Q: We are launching our new restaurant next week, how do you recommend we market to our neighborhood?
A: Direct mail menus. Direct mail is an effective way to reach a highly targeted audience (your local neighborhood) in an affordable, unobtrusive manner. Place your delicious menu on a direct mail postcard, acquire a mailing list fitting the geography and even income level of your audience; the end result is a targeted message that is sure to land on your prospect’s refrigerator.
Door hangers will work as well, however keep in mind the odd size of door hangers; it is unlikely that your prospects will place this item on the refrigerator or keep around for a long period of time.
Great ideas. I’d also throw in some limited-time offers or discounts for, say, the first 100 customers. Everyone loves free ice-cream or cheap beer. Oh and I’d get to know a few of the big spenders and personally invite them to come back again. And If you’re an upmarket joint, why not take it a step further and break out the champagne? =)
